As the COVID-19 pandemic keeps affecting the entire human community on every continent, Angoulême UNESCO Creative City, is launching a competition to imagine the  « Post-pandemic city »

In today’s sanitary context, many fear, hope, anticipate the “post-covid” world. As part of “2020 year of comics” and the network of Creative Cities literature UNESCO, the City of Angoulême, the International City of Comics, in partnership with the International Festival of the Comics and the Lyon Urban School, have chosen to question this theme by implementing an international comics competition that will show “the post-pandemic city”.

The goal is to frame in one or two pages the utopian vision of the post-pandemic city. The work must be explicitly linked to the Creative City from which the author is from. The “city after” can be approached from all angles: utopia or dystopia, documentary or imaginary angle, science fiction, intimate narrative of humor – everything is open. The setting itself is left to the free appreciation of the participants: large urban landscape or individual interiors, architectural projects or landscaping – anything is possible.
