A fresco in tribute to Goscinny enriches the walls of the city.

The city of Angoulême now has a 28th painted wall and it is the very first dedicated to an author. This 196-square-meter fresco will also be the first to be spread over two facades at the corner of Goscinny Street and Jules Michelet Street.

René Goscinny can be seen in his studio in front of rows of albums and surrounded by his most famous : Asterix, Lucky Luke, Iznogoud, and Little Nicolas.

Anne Goscinny, her daughter, chose Catel to direct the work. The two women had previously collaborated on Grasset’s comic book The Goscinny Novel. It took two months of work for muralists Moon and Mick to create the mural.
