Long time no see!

What a pleasure to have met you again for our International Comics Festival, after more than two long years!

Many of you were present at this 49th edition, thank you so much!

On the programme this year?

More than 280 exhibitors, a drawing concert, beautiful exhibitions and masterclasses (Chris Ware, Shigeru Mizuki, Mortelle Adèle, Tatsuki Fujimoto…), tributes to the great Goscinny and Uderzo, meetings, signing sessions, and many other surprises!

The Grand Prix is awarded this time to the Quebec author Julie Doucet, for her subversive and free of complexes art, in which she illustrates without taboos her daily life, with its whims and its anxieties.

Last November, she published the anthology Maxi Plotte, bringing together almost all the drawings from her fanzine Dirty Plotte.

She succeeds the American Chris Ware, after a competition with the cartoonists Pénélope Bagieu and Catherine Meurisse.

46 albums were selected this year for the official selection of the Festival. The Grand Jury – composed of Fanny Michaëlis, Pierre Alary, Florence Aubenas, Romain Brethes, Michel Hazanavicius, Mathilde Llobet and Laurent-Marc Touitou – awarded Marcello Quintanilha the Fauve d’or – prize for the best album – for his title “Écoute, jolie Márcia“.

We look forward to seeing you next year for the 50th edition of the Festival, which promises to be fantastic!

Long live comics!
